A dream. That is the best definition of Mt.FUJI 100, with the long-distance race being the star, a 100-mile (160 km) race that runs through the foothills of the country’s highest mountain and also offers the opportunity to experience a thousand year old culture like the Japanese. There is also a 40 and 70km races that shares the beauty and good dose of challenge of its big sister.

About 3200 runners gather at the foot of Mount Fuji. Runners must overcome 168 km with +6200 m of elevation that connect the Fujisan Kodomo no Kuni National Park with the city of Fujikawaguchiko. Mount Fuji is omnipresent, witnessing the stories of each of these participants who come from all over the world to write an unforgettable page in their lives.

The base of the Mt.FUJI 100 is in the small town of Fujiyoshida (54 000 inhabitants), in the Yamanashi province. Located about 100 kilometers from Tokyo, it has good connections with the Japanese capital, both through public and private transportation. The race is held at the end of April with temperatures that can range from 0 to 22 degrees Celsius.

Since its first running in 2012, the best ultra trail runners have written their names in the race’s history. Among them are the French François D’Haene, Xavier Thévenard, and Julien Chorier, the Americans Courtney Dauwalter and Dylan Bowman, the Spanish Nerea Martínez, Nuria Picas and Uxue Fraile, the Brazilian Fernanda Maciel and the Chinese Fuzhao Xiang.
