The North Face Transgrancanaria marked the third event of the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors. During the event, the partnership with Gran Canaria as the title sponsor was announced. The event commenced under warm weather and sunny skies, setting a perfect stage… until the main race, the Classic. The night brought tough conditions—cold, rain, fog, and challenges for both competitors and volunteers. This is the resume in video of the 2024 edition.
As dawn broke, the sun reappeared, raising the temperatures and bringing warmth back to the course. In the town of Maspalomas, Raul Butaci and Courtney Dauwalter emerged victorious, though many other ‘winners’ also crossed the finish line.
This video aims to encapsulate the experience and emotions of long-distance races, highlighting the competition, challenges, and the rollercoaster of emotions inherent in every trail running event. When viewed in retrospect, it reveals the profound nature of the sport—climbing mountains, crossing valleys, digging deep within oneself, experiencing moments of both love and hate. This is the essence of why we call these ‘Races of a Lifetime’.
