HONG KONG 100 STARTS THE SEASON FOR THE GRAN CANARIA WORLD TRAIL MAJORS WITH AN AMAZING EVENT

The outskirts of the immense city of Hong Kong, on the Sai Kung peninsula and a large part of the UNESCO Global Geopark, will see the fifteenth edition of the Hong Kong 100 take place from the 16th to the 18th of January, which once again kicks off the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors Series 2025. A strong field of runners will battle for the glory of winning one of the most prestigious trail running events in Asia.

33, 56 or 103 kilometres and thousands of steps wind along the coastline with the South China Sea in sight, in a setting that will bring together more than 2,800 runners from 60 countries. The event consists of three races, The Third, The Half and the Hong Kong 100 itself plus a combined race for the strongest (the “Grand Sam”, 192 km and +9000 m over three days).

Gran Canaria World Trail Majors is pleased to announce the creation of the Short Series by Gran Canaria World Trail Majors to include more trail runners to its already established long distance series. The Short Series follows the same model as the long-distance races, open to all, built on diversity and respect, independent, but aiming to be more inclusive for more runners. GRAN CANARIA WORLD TRAIL MAJORS WELCOMES VIETNAM MOUNTAIN MARATHON FOR 2025

After the recent announcement of the Australian Grampians Peaks Trail 100 Miler to the second season of the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors, we now announce a second new race to the 2025 season with the Vietnam Mountain Marathon. The event is the oldest in Vietnam and annually brings together over 4000 runners over its various distances. The race joining the World Trail Majors series is the 100 Kilometre distance.

The grand finale of the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors takes place next weekend in Cape Town, South Africa, at the RMB Ultra-Trail Cape Town event. Its flagship race, 98 kilometres and 4972 metres of elevation gain, will determine the final classification of the circuit in which €47,000 in cash prizes will be awarded, plus what each race awards individually. RMB Ultra-Trail Cape Town will be the final race in the first edition of the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors Series.
