A picture is worth a thousand words, they say. It may often be true, but here, it falls short. Thousands of people, their memories, their efforts, their joys (and sorrows), and their dreams cannot fit into seven minutes of video. But we’ve tried. This is a summary of what 2024 has been: the first edition of the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors, 2024 in a nutshell. Enjoy it.

THE MATHEMATICS OF THE FINAL ROUND OF THE GRAN CANARIA WORLD TRAIL MAJORS
The grand finale of the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors takes place next weekend in Cape Town, South Africa, at the RMB Ultra-Trail Cape Town event. Its flagship race, 98 kilometres and 4972 metres of elevation gain, will determine the final classification of the circuit in which €47,000 in cash prizes will be awarded, plus what each race awards individually. After nine races in Hong Kong, United States, Spain, Japan, Portugal, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Canada and France, the top positions in the rankings are undecided and there is scope for a major shake-up in the rankings. NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS
Since the Grand Raid des Pyrenees (race report, beautiful video) to the build up of the upcoming RGB Ultra-Trail Cape Town on the 22-24 November we have not stood still, it might seem that way as we have been quiet and not spreading news, but we are busy behind the scenes. In this case, no news is good news.
GRAND RAID DES PYRENEES 2024 IN VIDEO
Grand Raid des Pyrenees 2024 was a big trail running party once more. The mountains, the multiple races but especially the atmosphere makes this race very special. We resumed the race in a the post race report but in a video too. Dates for 2025 are not confirmed but usually are the third weekend of August, so stay tune to the official website.
SPECTACULAR VICTORIES FOR GILLIE AND CHAMPAGNE IN THE CHALLENGING GRAND RAID DES PYRENEES
The penultimate event in the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors series could hardly have had a better setting. On the north side of the Pyrenees, with Vielle-Aure as the epicentre, almost 8000 runners took part in the various races that make up the Gran Raid des Pyrenees. The longest and most demanding race at 160 km and almost 10,000 metres of elevation (plus another 10,000 metres of descent) was the one that counted towards the series that will be concluded in November in Cape Town, South Africa. Rémi Gillie and Anne Champagne took the 1500 points for victory in 2024, one of the most competitive GRP editions in its history.
THE GRAND RAID DES PYRENEES, A FRENCH FAVOURITE
The Grand Raid des Pyrenees 2024 celebrates its seventeenth edition in 2024 and is the ninth and penultimate event of the Gran Canaria World Majors series, which will finish in South Africa at the end of November.
Grand Raid des Pyrenees, commonly known as the GRP, is the people’s choice favourite French trail/ultra race. An amateur association with professional quality offers the best of the French Pyrenees to thousands of runners who still appreciate the friendly and authentic atmosphere and experience. This is why it is loved by French runners and why it remains a benchmark on the calendar.
